The Hollywood Gossip is in love with Friday Night Lights.

But one of the main actors on this NBC drama recently admitted strong feelings for a certain American Idol finalist.

Scott Porter, who plays paralyzed former quarterback Jason Street, says he was a professional beat boxer before landing this new role. Therefore, you can imagine who he admires.

“He had some strong points and some weak points. I liked watching him, though. He’s pretty talented,” Porter said of Blake Lewis.

“When I saw him perform with Doug E. Fresh, I have to tell you I was a little jealous, but anything that can bring some notoriety to beatboxing, I really enjoy.”

Porter added that locals in Austin – where Friday Night Lights is filmed – are great about letting him get on stage.

“There’s a group called Boombox out here in Austin, and whenever I get a chance to see them, they let me up on stage, and we jam a little bit. It’s a great feeling to get to do what I used to do.”

We’re guessing Kyle Chandler and Porter’s cast mates have had a chance to listen to these skills, as well. We just hope the rest of America has a chance to watch these incredible actors in action on Friday Night Lights.

It’s an incredible show.
