The age of consent in California is 18, but in some states (with regulations) it is as low as fourteen, (Hawaii and South Carolina) and 15, (Connecticut). Don't be surprised when young women are getting pregnant when today's schools don't offer comprehensive sex education programs that offer information about methods of contraceptives. Many women are unaware that they can receive free or low cost birth control (pill, patch, shot, or implant), and condoms from the Planned Parenthood Organization. All of Planned Parenthood's services are free of charge for high school students.
If you are going to bash on Jamie Lynn Spears you should also take the time to worry about preventing further pregnancies through REAL education. Telling someone not to have sex isn't good enough anymore.

I can't get it through my head that she got pregnant. She seemed like the good daughter. But I still don't think that gives anyone the reason to cuss about her.. It's not like she's gonna see it, and what's the point anyway? She's not a bitch just because she got pregnant. I'm sure there are many girls that have commented this that aren't virgins, and it could have easily happened to them.

jamie is a role model to many younger teens who watch zoey 101. and if she really is pregnant i dont think its a very good thing to have those younger girls see. but for the older teenage girls, i think it could turn out to be an eye opener. there are alot more high school girls getting pregnant now a days then there used to be. but oh well. its there choice to do what they are doing. you dont have to judge people like that saying they are sluts and whores.

wow!.......this was SUCH a shock! I TRULY like both of the Spears girls, but when Britney SCREWED UP time and time again, i moved on to Jamie Lynn. I was rooting for her ALL THE WAY! Then she goes and does this! You'de think kid/teen stars would get the message BY NOW of what NOT to do when in the spotlight, but OH NO,STILL people like Vanessa Hudgens go and take naked pictures of themselves and email them! 1ST DISNEY now NICK! I say they should either just stop letting kid's shows get show much publicity and press (because you dont really have any control over the populaity) or pass a law where kids MUST sign an agreement stating that while they're on ANY show (specifically DISNEY/NICK/other) that appeals mainly to viewers 2 to 18 years of age MUST promote ONLY a wholesome and innocent image (if that is what the channel or show promotes and is known for) and if agreement is violated, the actor should be banned from the project for a certain period of time for the 1st offense and FIRED for the 2nd offense! But that's just my opinion.

I think that she made a mistake, but we shouldn't judge her. Maybe she's having a hard life and her family isn't the best. I'm behind her 100% because people im my family made mistakes like that, but you go on with live and make the best of any situation.

I feel sorry for jamie lynn, no wait, I dont feel sorry for her. Its unbeleivable, I am almost 16, and I am terrified of becoming pregnant when I am an adult, If I were in her position I would feel so scared, terrified, I'd probably just break down and cry, because theres no going back and undoing what you've done, and me being against abortion, well, I'm afraid jamie lynn has thrown away her youth, career, and freedom. shes now tied down, a full time mother, or at least she will be in about 6 months. It was stupid on her part to not be concious enough to realize what can happen, but now the damage is done, and I'm not sorry for her, but I'm scared for her.
maybe it will be a lesson to other 15-17 year old girls out there to be a little more careful.

16 and pregnant yes, it is common but it shouldn't be. There are 28 girls pregnant at the local high school where I live. I do think it was a mistake, but you need to realize she is role model to thousands of young children and now look. I don't care that she has been with her 19 year old boyfriend for 2 years its wrong.
