MTV Movie Awards Recap: Sarah Silverman Hilarious, Paris Hilton Ridiculed, Jessica Biel Awkward
As expected, Sarah Silverman kept 'em laughing as host of the 2007 MTV Movie Awards.
The funnywoman opened the show with a hilarious and potty-mouthed monologue in which she accused Spider-Man 3 of being racist (really) and told Jack Nicholson, "You have literally been in every single one of my favorite actresses!"
But the most ridiculed celebrity of the evening was Paris Hilton, who took hits from Silverman as well as Dane Cook, who cracked, "Paris Hilton was so offended by Sarah Silverman's opening remarks that she checked herself into jail early."
Amy Winehouse gave the best performance of the evening when she rocked the house with her sultry tune "Rehab."
The Best Close Call of the night was Jessica Biel presenting the Best Kiss award (along with Kevin James and Adam Sandler), for which none other than Cameron Diaz was a nominee for her smooch with Jude Law in The Holiday.
Luckily, Talladega Nights' Will Ferrell and Sacha Baron Cohen took home the golden popcorn in that category, avoiding a potentially awkward run-in.
Diaz, meanwhile, had plenty of love for Shrek the Third costar Mike Myers who she presented with the MTV Generational Award.
After a gushing speech in which she said that Myers made her laugh harder than anyone she'd ever met, she coquettishly asked the audience, "Should I shag him now? Or should I shag him later?"
Justin Timberlake, Diaz's ex and Biel's current love, wisely avoided the evening, opting not to attend the awards. If you didn't catch the show either, see a list of the winners below:

Sarah was not hilarious. She was inappropriate and completely out of line. I turned the show off after her comments about Britney - no wonder why she was so nervous out there. I think it's completely absurd to have a VMA host that mocks all the performers and attendees - get some class, Sarah, and shut up.

BOYCOTT HER NEW SHOW !!! Where was Gwen , and Bono , and Bon Jovi , and any of the other great artists … how about even Fergie or Shakira …. everyone from the "hood" made it …. oh … & Justine …… MTV … wow … you've come a long way baby …… it's a shame ! Brittany needed a few more clothes … her performance was ok …. but the person who was REALLY bad was Sara Silverman …. IT is SOO TACKY and LOW CLASS to put down someone's children …. does she have any …. I would say NOT !!!! BOYCOTT HER NEW SHOW ON COMEDY CENTRAL >>>>>>

I'm not a Britney fan per se, but I actually felt bad after watching her sluggishly embarassing performance. Personally, I think MTV hyped this performance as a comeback knowing it would be such a sensational train wreck.
And, I think Silverman demonstrated once again that she's just not funny and is simply, lowest-of-the-low obnoxious and crude. I know comedians are not always the kindest people but where do you draw the line? Talking about someone's kids? For Silverman, there is no line.
And, for some comedians, saying "there is no line" translates to pioneering genius like Richard Pryor, Eddie Murphy, or Denis Leary. This was just plain old "kick 'em when you're down, and your kids too" desperation.
And the lack of applause I think demonstrated how unfunny she was and how uncomfortable she made the audience.
I sincerely hopes this blows up in Silverman's face and that the network execs and press realize that there is no substance of worth behind her obnoxious, dysmorphically trapped teenage rage, and slash-and-burn assaults on anyone or any group of people.
I'm sure her parents are very proud of her shameful assault on a compromised person.
