The sad story of Chris Benoit and his family is becoming clearer.
Around 4 p.m. yesterday afternoon, Atlanta police found the body of this former WWE star and his wife and son in their Fayette County home.
According to CNN, authorities were investigating the deaths as a murder-suicide. Fayette County District Attorney Scott Ballard told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution: "The details, when they come out, are going to prove a little bizarre."
Those details may emerge after the completion of autopsies scheduled for Tuesday.
Investigators believe Benoit killed his wife and seven-year old son over the weekend and then himself sometime Monday. The bodies were found Monday afternoon in three different rooms of the house on Green Meadow Lane, in a subdivision off a gravel road about two miles from Whitewater Country Club.
The autopsies were scheduled to be done at the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Crime Lab in DeKalb County.
Ballard said a gun shot was not the cause of death, but would not provide any further details at this time.
World Wrestling Entertainment said on its Web site that it asked authorities to check on Benoit and his family after being alerted by friends who received "several curious text messages sent by Benoit early Sunday morning."

Why in the hell did WWE have a three hour tribute to a murderer. he killed his family and everyone says what a nice guy this steroid freak was?

Noone knows if he really did it. He was an outstanding wrestler. I guess we'll know later today or tomorrow

Bryan you should not lead to conclussions the police have to comb through that and find all the facts right now it is alleged that he Double murder-suicide. but i do think if he did it it was bad taste that WWE aired a tribute about a murderer even if it is chris beniot.

WWE did not know at the time that it was a double-murder suicide. And there really is still no way to tell if this is what happened. But nonetheless as disapointted and disgusted as i will be IF this is the case, Benoit was still one of the most amazing wrestlers of his time and you recognize that not his personal life.

Chris Benoit was one of the best technical wrestler ever to walk the face of this Earth. It is sad that he is now gone, however it may have happened. And in response to Bryan--I'd rather WWE have a three-hour tribute to Chris Benoit than a bogus three-hour tribute to Vince McMahon when Vince is still very much alive. Rest In Peace, Chris--We Love You!!!!

There is no evidence as of yet to what actually happened! Chris Benoit was possibly the greatest technical wrestler of all time! I really am hoping he didn't do it as i got the impression that he was one of the nicest guys to come out of WWE. Rest In Piece Chris Benoit

Basic Blanket Synopsis:
"Never mind that Chris Benoit strangled his wife and smothered his SEVEN YEAR OLD SON. He was an awesome wrestler, and that's what counts."
The idiocy of some people never ceases to amaze me.

It's always sad when these things happen - especially to someone you feel you may have had some kind of connection to, either personally or someone you've watched for years on TV.
What haunts me is the thought of doing this to your own son - a 7 yr old boy. How distraught do you have to be to justify that in your own mind?
Whether or not Chris killed his family - someone did. Someone killed that little boy, and it's horrible.
There was a double-murder-suicide in Toronto last night. Guess which event is getting more press, today ...
