Our readers hate Simon Monjack.
If you believe half of the things posted about him on this site, you'd think Brittany Murphy's new husband were sleazier than Spencer Pratt... with a criminal past to boot.
Turns out our celebrity gossip readers might not be too far off base in decrying this odd, unexpected and wholly suspicious marriage.
Word out of the New York Post today suggests that Murphy wed Simon Monjack to keep him from being deported. According to the National Enquirer, Monjack was arrested on expired visa charges on March 27 - just over a month before the couple's rushed marriage.
The tabloid also hammers the actress' portly hubby with allegations of bad debts and shady business schemes. Sources told the Post that the clueless cutie knew nothing about this.
Interestingly, Murphy once starred in a movie called Clueless (with Alicia Silverstone).
Simon Monjack's lawyer denied the allegations, claiming they are being made by "disgruntled ex-girlfriends" and that immigration lawyers have concluded the marriage to Brittany Murphy had no bearing on his visa status.

What about the stories that the wedding was an intimate affair, with family present? Rumour has it that Mr. Con-Jack even defrauded dear old mum, telling her he had terminal cancer in order to get his hands on her cash. Hmmm...did she attend this happy intimate affair? Did she cry at her baby boy's wedding? Do ya think she brought a gift? Who is this Monjack guy, anyways, and who is his family? Where does he come from, and what's he be doing the past 37 years? That's what some of us would like to know.

Thank you Hollywood Gossip! You were the only site to publish an article on this con artist before the news broke that he is indeed a criminal.
What a happy day for all the women he has conned (oh my God, the "terminal Cancer" story he used a few years ago to evoke sympathy - he used people by telling him he was dying. Simon Monjack is a disgusting evil and very sick (mentally) man. This ought to scare the investors away. Time for him to check out of the "White Hotel" and check into Jail.
Deport this fat ugly disgusting idiot and let the "News Of The World" finish him off in the UK.

I am a guy, i.e., not a disgruntled girlfriend, and I know all about Simon Monjack. This mini-scandal is one of those rare occasions where everything being written about someone is true. He is a sociopathic liar, without a conscience. He has hurt many people whom I care about and I am really happy the word is out about him. I am simply shocked he could be so stupid as to marry someone famous. When you con unknown women out of their money, and hurt them terribly, noboyd cares, but now he has entered the celebrity circus and he is in the crosshairs of the media. This man deserves the abuse. He is truly rotten, cruel, and ill.

Trumbo you said it best! and narcissits want attention so he wouldn't stop to think his ex's who are embarassed and humiliated by him would come forward as they wouldn't want their friends and family to know they were conned! Simon doesn't think he has hurt anyone only that he is doing well for himself at other people's expense.
See what his step children wrote, out of the mouth of babes! Now why would they lie? they have only pain no gain.
