As the world shows love to this year's second place finisher on American Idol, Blake Lewis, the runner-up from last season is feeling awfully lonely.
We don't know why. Katharine McPhee is quite gorgeous and talented.
While scores of American Idol alums turned out to partake in this year's season finale, McPhee was as absent from the festivities as Britney Spears is from any semblance of normalcy.
Although fellow Season 5 competitors Elliot Yamin, Kellie Pickler, Taylor Hicks and Chris Daughtry all returned for guest spots this season, McPhee was missing from the rundown â" and it was not by choice.
"Katharine called them herself, trying to get on the [finale]," a source close to the singer tells Us Magazine. "She's really hurt."
Not as hurt as Aubrey O'Day probably is that we compared her to an Oompa Loompa. But still.
Of course, Kat wasn't the only former Idol who got dissed. When Sony/BMG president Clive Davis addressed the TV audience, he made sure to plug Hicks' new single, but failed to mention Kelly Clarkson's latest single or her forthcoming CD, My December, over which the two have reportedly butted heads.
McPhee's rep could not be reached and Fox had no comment, but we want McPhee to know that she's welcome to perform on any concert sponsored by The Hollywood Gossip.
The next one scheduled is the Lindsay Lohan Rehab Rock 'n Roll Fest.

I don't know why American Idol would not have on the beautiful MC Phee unless they were afraid that she would be a distraction cause of her beauty and charm. She will become bigger than all the others anyway so her fans are not worried by this slam by American Idol. Go Kat go !!!

After her Sorry -- Terrible live performances when her cd first dropped, her label prob thought that another pitiful performance from her would do more harm than good.

If I remember correctly, he did plug Kat's new single as well.I noticed when an article came out about Kelly being dissed by AI they made mention that he plugged Taylor's and Kat's new single and now here,b/c it's about Kat getting dissed, you say he plugged only Taylor's cd.Get it right, you don't need to fib to get more emphasis on your storyline.

I think American Idol made a lot of mistakes this season. One of them definitely was not having Katharine in the finale. It looked very tacky on
the AI producers. Mind you......considering the whole final was just so bad compared to last years.
