They are both good singers. I admit that Carrie Underwood has a great voice but Kelly Clarkson's voice is stronger. Kelly Clarkson's songs are also hitmakers. She's also a good songwriter. So, I would have to stick with Kelly Clarkson, all the way!

Carrie of course. Kelly doesn't even COMPARE to miss underwood. Count the number of albums each has had and even tho Kelly may have a few more than her....consider what will happen once the new Carrie album has come out. Shes achieved so much in her short amount of years compared to Kelly. Nine STRAIGHT ...(almost 10) number one singles...and album sales off the charts! Not to mention the vocal range and interaction with fans. Kelly can never ever live up to Carrie, sorry babe.

No it's Carrie that can never live up to Carrie Shyane. Kelly is going to produce more #1's with new record which is going to better than Carrie's new one. Kelly only has a few more in us sales but Kelly blows her out of the water in worldwide sales sorry babe. Heck with the 10 mil. that Carrie has sold worldwide with both of her albums Kelly sold that much with only Breakaway ha! Has Carrie ever broken a billboard record twice-no heck not even once. But Kelly has which she first broke the biggest leap to #1 for a song back in 2002 with 'A Moment Like This' jumping from #52 to #1 breaking a record that was held by the freackin' Beatles and she held that record for five freckin' years until Maroon 5 broke then not long after that it was broken four more times before Kelly claimed that title back this year with 'My Life Would Suck Without You' which jumped from #98 to #1. Ha beat that!

Kelly is the best by far. Dont get me wrong i like Carrie, but to say shes better than kelly is a little bit of an over kill she wont catch up with kelly because kelly is still making new music. Her new CD is doing very well already being certified gold and well on its way to being platnum. Which will mean all of her cds are selling very well. And also kelly live is amazing the emotion in the song is like no other because she actually writes most of her songs, which is why her cds have a little bit of time between them. Shes also on tour all the time so its probably hard to fit in recording a new record.

Kelly is more mature in terms of song interpretation. Whenever I hear Carrie sing, I get confused who's singing because she's got a very nondescript voice that doesn't stand out. And the way she interprets her songs are very bland and very typical, unlike Kelly who's had many many performances that just makes you tear up watching. And Kelly's voice is special too - the tone, the rasp, the range - it's just exciting and moving to listen to.

every country have idol show like amrcn idol, u know why? cause kelly is the first americn idol winner, though actually idol show from popidol not AI, but it cause kelly! every performences as guest star on AI, all judges always give standing ovation for kelly. for carrie? no!! it proves that kelly is the best alumn AI! kelly, you're so rock!!

LOVE Kelly!!! Hate Carrie. She sounds to stuffy and seems very diva like. The whole fame thing totally changed her for the worst. I like that Kelly stayed true to herself and didn't become all hollywood like Carrie. She looks normal and she is so down to earth and her voice is still the BEST! she's just a natural and damn good at it!

first off country music is the most popular genre in america so the fact that Kelly is more pop means absolutely nothing..Carrie is ten times better looking and kelly clarksons songs suck...any Carrie will out sell kelly by 10+ million in the next few years

hey all of you think. it doesnt matter who the prettier but just take not who does make more sell of album from the two and more recognition. that goes with carrie underwood. i like kelly but this competition is about who's the best and in this industry if you not making a good money even how good are you you are still not a winner. thats what simon means and IT factor that an audiance and listener love. ill go with carrie

KELLY CLARKSON a DIVA in VH1 this year. kelly will be guest judge in AI 9, but carrie? it proves that kelly has a better vocal and album than carrie.
in my country (indonesia) everyone just know carrie, but they don't know the album and the songs,
kelly? everyone knows kelly and the songs, hits, also the album. so in worlwide, kelly clarkson more succes, more famous, better vocal than carrie.

to rulz, so what if kelly clarkson is a quest judge on AI 9. i feel really sorry for kelly coz carrie had guested on the show a lot more. including her voice was used for the farewell song for the contestants("home sweet home") suck on that KELLY FAT CLARKSON!!) and carrie underwood has more AWARDS than kelly. FYI.

First of all Kelly and Carrie has about equal the amount of awards and awards don't mean everything. Maybe the reason Carrie has been back to Idol more is because she still needs it, which Kelly on the other hand doesn't need it any more, she can't make it on her own she has prove and the reason Kelly hasn't been back as much is well because she is an international artist/superstar and has been touring the world like non stop for a few years now and it's usually when Idols on and when she's not touring she's busy working so back off. Who cares that Carrie sung the goodbye song but if Kelly every does it will be a billion times better than Carries. I did not like her version of "Home Sweet Home" *one reason why she still needs Idol and is stuck up their butts still*. But hey Carrie never got to do those cheesy Idol Christmas Speicals (her own Xmas Speical don't count), or had a Idol Speical in Vegas after she won like Kelly did. Well Kelly is the only Idol who has appeared on other Idol shows, Australia, and Canada *which there she was a mentor. She's the only alum to be an Idol mentor anywhere. And she has also guested on the Spanish version of Idol. Beat that!

Carrie, by a mile. I loved Kelly when she was on idol, but she has gone out of her zone. Carrie is still the same sweet, down-to-earth person she was on season 4.

Carrie has changed so much. I guess too much money and fame, she is showing a lot of skin. For someone who has talent, she dont have to show too much!
