i mean, they're both REALLY good.
but Kelly wins this by a long shot.
she's an incredible artist who can just about sing ANY type of music.
rarely will you find another artist who can do that.
Kelly is true to her fans, and we are the same to her.
she's the most down-to-earth celebrity EVER and we all just love her!

Clarkson is 10 times more successful then Underwood!! Hello?! BREAKAWAY = 15 MILLION WORLDWIDE SALES.
The rest of the world don't even know Carrie, she doesn't tour all over the world like Kelly!!
I like Carrie but Kelly's voice is way more versatile.

To me Kelly Clarkson is the best idol winner ever! Her voice is just so vesatile, she can blend into any genre (except rap) with ease. Carrie underwood is alright, but she can only gain a strong audience in canada and the US. Country music isnt popular as much as other genres world wide. Kelly Clarkson from the first album was given recognition world wide, and Breakaway only intensified the fire from within. Compare the United World Singles charts and see how different sales are between Kelly and Carrie. Kelly has dominated many countries, in which they have no idea Carrie even exists.

comparing these 2 is a little like comparing apples 2 oranges because ones pop and the others country in pop music kelly wins hand down but in country music carrie underwood kicks kelly clarksons ass!!! plus i think carrie as a sweater voice and sings with more emotion than most singers r even capable of and that makes the song she sing ten times better tan anyone could ever make them even kelly also i think carrie is much prettier with her girl next store good looks i love yoo carrrie

all carrie fans are blind! kelly won an mtv award, she was the first american idol and in all around the world, kelly's song scince u been gone was named as the number one hit! carrie never reached that level. carrie is such a poser, loser and a mofo! maybe kelly IS fat. but atleast her personality rocks! i choose kelly! duh! i'm a really huge fan of her. carrie is only a country singer! kelly is rock and pop!

Carrie obviously...i mean come on...her first album sold alot more than Kelly's first album...Carrie has won female vocalist of the year for two years in a row now...as well as just receiving her 5th #1 consecutive single...honestly...don't get me wrong, I love kelly as well...I just think Carrie has the edge now

Kelly for sure, I agree with the other comments that her voice is versatile. Btw, come on people, it's her VOICE and PERSONALITY that matters the most! The fact that she's not as skinny as those stick-body-popstars out there got nothing to do with her being a singer!

first off-
id like to say, some of you all have absoultly no class. you like carrie more, because shes more beautiful? that is not a reason for liking a singer more then another. if they were models, go ahead.
i do admit, carrie is goregous, but when we are comparing voices,
kelly wins.
second-
now think about this. carries first album was an american idol based album. carrie just recorded and helped pick songs. she had no imput in this or that. breakaway was a record done with no help from american idol. another thing-american idol was just getting out when kelly won. hardly anyone knew about her until the second season of ai.
thridly-
i want you to walk over to a piano and play the highest note youve heard kelly sing and then play the highest note youve heard carrie sing.
ill let you figure out the rest of what im saying.
their ranges arent even close.
if you dont have a piano, ill tell you.
carrie can sing 2 octoves. kelly fan sing 3.
its very difacult to reach 3 octoves, even though it doesnt seem that way.
im a teenager and i can already reach 2. carrie and i have the same range. that kind of says a lot.
lastly-
kelly OWNs the stage. ive never seen such an enerergetic performer.

Kelly is waaaaaay better. She's got such a powerful voice and actually writes her songs. She really connects with her music and has an amazing voice.
And stop calling her fat! Jeez! You guys are so mean! Especially you "jeenyistonedeaf". Yeah, real creative name. You're the putz here. And liking Carrie better because she's "prettier" is just stupid. I mean if you like Carrie better, that's fine but if you like her because you think she's more beautiful and "not as fat" as Kelly then u need to get a life.
Kelly is gorgeous, talented, and totally rocks it, so take that kelly-haters.

Hei!!! CARRIE goes milea away from Kelly.... Kelly sings great on albums while live, never!! she sucks live!!!
Meanwhile, Carrie is so great both live and in record.. Even in the morning she sounds the best!!!

Carrie is by far the best. i don't know if any of you saw the half-time show on thanksging. Carrie performed two years ago and kelly this past year. This is absolute proof Carrie is better. Kellys performancd was very mediaoker at best. I read one comment that kelly is the most humble. Carrie always thanks AI and performs at the finale. This year she went to africa to help with america idol gives back. Kellys new cd is depressing. It took Kelly five years to come back and perform. Carrie is a pro and yet she still is humble and always grateful to her fans and AI because they gave her the start. Carrie has my vote without doubt. kelly may have been the first AI success but she is certainly not the best.
