Despite a sweet, wholesome and down-to-earth image, Anne Hathaway says she has - believe it or not - behaved badly in the past.
In fact, she draws comparisons between herself and another Hollywood Gossip staple (and drunken, horny, frequently troubled waif).
"You know, Lindsay Lohan and I have a lot more in common than people think," Anne says in an interview with the UK's The Sunday Times.
"We've all done things we shouldn't, it's just I did stuff at college, when nobody knew about it, so I'm not a saint," Hathaway said.
The Devil Wears Prada actress says of Lohan, who entered rehab last month:
"Lindsay's a nice girl, I like her a lot, and she's a great actor, but there's a fascination about her lifestyle that distracts from her talents. I just hope she finds some comfort in the way she chooses to live."
But according to Hathaway, 24, she went through her own hard-partying phase and she's not interested in doing the whole train wreck thing again.
"I wasted time doing self-destructive things but it didn't work. I found out you can only dance on so many tabletops. I got that all out of my system and now I'm healthy and I'm grounded.
"I had to work through some sh!t in my personal life," Hathaway explains. "I wasn't ready to be a serious actress, with all that entails, because I still had a lot of questions about myself as a human being."
We're guessing Britney Spears could relate, if she were sober enough to make out the words on this world wide web page.
Hathaway, who recently admitted she battled depression, says her turnaround came about three years ago, when she met her boyfriend, property developer Raffaello Follieri.
"He's brought out so many positive attributes," she said.
"Before I met him, I wasted so much time. I was just annoying and narcissistic and smelled bad. He's protective without being possessive, passionate without needing to show his temper."
Anne Hathaway smelled bad? Who knew. We'll tell you one thing, though - from the looks of these Anne Hathaway pictures, she never looked bad.

I've read recently that on the set of Brokeback mountain, that if my understanding of the article is correct, off screen Miss Hathaway let one of the actors feel up her breasts after one of the scenes, because he complained he hadn't got a good feel while filming the scene. Given that she reportedly boasts a 36C cup size I can understand his disappointment and salute her if the story is true, or is this just another ploy to make us think she is naughtier than she really is.
