I LOVE THE OC. but now that Marissa has been cut off?.. its true.. she was "THE OC" .. i think they should have kept her.. whatever their reason was to cut her off.. it was stupid and wrong. Look what happened to OC.? It was the best show ever. i wish i could see mischa barton in other tv series.. she doesn't deserved being cut off. stupid director w/e that fired her.

i still watched the oc after the fal of marissa cooper
and it was pretty ok but the plots were so cliche..
they hada dream episode..and thats when you knew it was just going down the drain
so in a way ya she a key factor in the oc
its just tragic she left...i think that if she would have held on a little longer that they would still be on the air

oh well..still have the soap channel and dvds

I LOVE the OC! It was the most thought out and witty show I have ever seen, unlike the typical soap ops you see these days where everyone dies and comes back to life ten times. But yes,
I agree entirely that Marissa being killed off in the third season was the reason for the show being cancelled. I've watched the The OC since it started and have all three seasons on DVD. I watched the first episode of the fourth season and gave up it was that pathetic! I mean, what is the OC without the core four! I also think it's sad that Marissa didn't end up with Johnny and they killed him off so soon after he appeared. The OC has gone done hill since he died, so killing Marissa off killed the show completely! Even though there is still Ryan, Summer and Seth, the show is just not hte same anymore with Taylor in her place.
It was the only decent show on TV! I just can't believe it's ending so soon! :(

marrisa was basically the racheal from friends. without jennifer aniston, friends would have sucked... marrisa was so important to the show, and even if they did the whole ryan and marrisa thing for 8 seasons (like they did ross and racheal), i would have watched it... and marrisa was the hottest girl on that show. i wish girls like that went to my high school! josh shwartz is an idiot.

all you mischa haters have got to be kidding me. shes one of the most important characters in the oc i mean she was there right from the beginning when ryan arrived at the cohens! its NO WONDER the show sucked without her. plus, she IS drop dead gorgeous - thats without doubt. i dont really like her with ryan though and i dont think hes all that hot...i found it much more interesting when she was with alex in the second season.

  6. Patti Bills

I think jerry aukes should play a pill popping addict on the O.C. That steals from everybody to support his habit. Then misha falls in love with him and they both die in a car crash.

I stopped watching when they killed misha. I knew then the writers had nothing left to say so they were killing off characters or having them sail off into the sunset. They should have killed off sandy cohens wife leaving him open to hot affairs appealing to an older audiance.

  8. stephanie.

    the oc was amazing

  9. whore

i love ryan. he's so hot

  10. mathew

I though marissa was soo hot. I watched o.c from the first episode and fell in love with her right away. Ofcourse they cancelled the show without her.

  11. ...

The O.C. was better before and it did end because of marissa's deaath but it still shoudn't have ended!!!

ok.. well i do agree that the sow was on its way downhill, with the whole "Marissa finding herself and going for the bad guys time after time, with Ryan comming to the rescue at the end of each relationship." It was sort of a drone, but I still think that killing off Marissa Cooper was the worst idea. Plus, Taylor got so irritating. I wanted to slap her by the end of the 4th season and i couldn't believe that Ryan would ever actually fall for her. she was so needy and touchy. eww. but anyway, Misha was deffinatly the best character in the first 2 seasons and became repetitive by the 3rd, but if the writers were actaully good, then they could have found some ideas to keep her alive. All in all the OC was amazing but it ended wayy to early...

What i have to say doesnt really matter but Misha Barton's Character Marissa Cooper was getting old and annoying the whole thing between her and ryan shouldn't of drug on and on the way it did. The writting started going down hill. What they should of done was either break them two apart or let them be together the show would of went on longer and Season 4, I am VERYYY Disapointed in the way it ended i mean it was great but the show went down hill after they killed off marissa and ryan wondering about marissa and the letter from her. If they wanted to continue his unconditional love for her they shouldnt of killed her off.

  14. kristina

    btw
i totally agree that taylor is wayyyyyyyyyy hotter than marrissa..

  15. kristina

ok.. so basicly i agree. i'm not a fan of mishas and i dont thinkt that she was the main thing in the season.. it's just that the writing sucked and stuff. i never watched the OC.. i started a couple weeks back and i started watching season 4.. i liked it.. i dont know what all ya'll are talking bout.. i mean maybe seasons 1 and 2 were better but season 4 isn't so bad and i dont think that in anyway the show would be cancelled because of her. she's obviously very proud and self centerd.. i dont htink thats a great role model for anyone.

  16. Anthony

Alright, seriously....She was NOT carrying the show by any means. I also didn't agree with killing off a main character like Marissa, but the show was already on its way downhill. It was a constant cycle of Marissa trying to find out who she was by getting mixed up with really bad guys (and a girl) and ultimately Ryan having to save her. That gets boring real fast, and he finally realized she wasn't worth it and gave up on her. She had nothing left to give for the show. But personally, the biggest mistake had to be postponing everyone going to college for a year to keep the show going. The show should have just ended with everyone going off to college, that was the writers' biggest mistake. Besides, Sandy Cohen's character was probably one of the most entertaining, he was hilarious. and Taylor was WAY hotter than Marissa

wow this sucks, I can't believe that i finally find a show on tv other then 24 that i like and this is what happened. I'm so mad it not funny this was the best show. i have never been pulled in to this kind of a show before at first i'm like im not watching this dumb s--- now i'm like this can't be no!!!!!! This show was so well done to me on every aspect from the cast to music and of course the story they tell us. i always felt like i was a part of whats going on and could relate with what was happening. I really like all the characters some more then others but i don't believe that mischa was the whole show not by along shot and that she was it's down fall. I always saw the cohans's and ryan as the main characters and the others as supporting characters. but i still throught that they were all important to the show because of all the drama they went through. I will always wonder what would of happened if it was someone else that died in the show then left would it have the s

Mischa Barton (not a fan of hers) gets the last laugh. They cut her character and now the show is canceled. Can someone do the math! What a shame that this wonderful show is over.

By the way, whose great idea was it to put the show up against Grey's and CSI? Why not change the time slot to follow American Idol or some other show geared towards young adults.

Thanks for letting us down FOX and the producers of the OC. This is our payback for being loyal I supose. Oh and couldn't you at least give a 2 hour season finale?

  19. Nicole

Though not a Marissa fan AT ALL (couldn't stand her voice or the way she slouched), the fact that her character was killed off truly might have a lot to do with the poor ratings. People really loved her. I think to kill her off was a bad call. 4 years is not at all a long time for a show to air, this show, with it's absolutely gorgeous and talented cast, had another 2 years minimum before the story well ran totally dry.

Truth is, it's the loyal and devoted fans that lose. The producers, actors, and networks all made their money. Is someone really going to tell me that yanking the show was the only thing to do? they couldn't have moved the time slot, switched to another channel? I am so disgusted that this show threw in the towel. I feel cheated; but I do admire all the actors and wish them the best in their futures!

  20. caro

I totally agree.. I meen maybe there were many facts that made the oc end but Im sure that when mischa died many people stopped watching it!

    I mean she was great!

any way someone knows were to contact Olivia wilde or rachel bilson??

    please enswer!

I think that even with Mischa that the show started to suck a bit. It began to be more like a soap than a drama, season one compared with season three is what i mean. The writing sucked and the quality was lacking in season three. Even so it was a mistake to kill off Marissa, her character was one that everyone could identify with. We have all at some time experienced some type of "down" that her character did. You guys should not bash her for saying that her death killed the O.C. because it is the truth. Maby educate your self before saying stuff like that again about anyone. Mischa is an awsome actor and its really to bad the O.C. ended this way.

  22. martnic

Why can't all you Mischa 'haters' out there accept the truth. She was 'The OC' and having watched all of the episodes of season 4 so far, it is obvious that the once unmisable show had gradually become a ratings disaster and has now 'lost it'sway'. The show should have stuck to it's original '3 series' and it should have ended with Marissa and Ryan together heading off to college.
