ok.. well i do agree that the sow was on its way downhill, with the whole "Marissa finding herself and going for the bad guys time after time, with Ryan comming to the rescue at the end of each relationship." It was sort of a drone, but I still think that killing off Marissa Cooper was the worst idea. Plus, Taylor got so irritating. I wanted to slap her by the end of the 4th season and i couldn't believe that Ryan would ever actually fall for her. she was so needy and touchy. eww. but anyway, Misha was deffinatly the best character in the first 2 seasons and became repetitive by the 3rd, but if the writers were actaully good, then they could have found some ideas to keep her alive. All in all the OC was amazing but it ended wayy to early...

The O.C. was better before and it did end because of marissa's deaath but it still shoudn't have ended!!!

I though marissa was soo hot. I watched o.c from the first episode and fell in love with her right away. Ofcourse they cancelled the show without her.

I stopped watching when they killed misha. I knew then the writers had nothing left to say so they were killing off characters or having them sail off into the sunset. They should have killed off sandy cohens wife leaving him open to hot affairs appealing to an older audiance.

I think jerry aukes should play a pill popping addict on the O.C. That steals from everybody to support his habit. Then misha falls in love with him and they both die in a car crash.

all you mischa haters have got to be kidding me. shes one of the most important characters in the oc i mean she was there right from the beginning when ryan arrived at the cohens! its NO WONDER the show sucked without her. plus, she IS drop dead gorgeous - thats without doubt. i dont really like her with ryan though and i dont think hes all that hot...i found it much more interesting when she was with alex in the second season.

marrisa was basically the racheal from friends. without jennifer aniston, friends would have sucked... marrisa was so important to the show, and even if they did the whole ryan and marrisa thing for 8 seasons (like they did ross and racheal), i would have watched it... and marrisa was the hottest girl on that show. i wish girls like that went to my high school! josh shwartz is an idiot.

I LOVE the OC! It was the most thought out and witty show I have ever seen, unlike the typical soap ops you see these days where everyone dies and comes back to life ten times. But yes,
I agree entirely that Marissa being killed off in the third season was the reason for the show being cancelled. I've watched the The OC since it started and have all three seasons on DVD. I watched the first episode of the fourth season and gave up it was that pathetic! I mean, what is the OC without the core four! I also think it's sad that Marissa didn't end up with Johnny and they killed him off so soon after he appeared. The OC has gone done hill since he died, so killing Marissa off killed the show completely! Even though there is still Ryan, Summer and Seth, the show is just not hte same anymore with Taylor in her place.
It was the only decent show on TV! I just can't believe it's ending so soon! :(

i still watched the oc after the fal of marissa cooper
and it was pretty ok but the plots were so cliche..
they hada dream episode..and thats when you knew it was just going down the drain
so in a way ya she a key factor in the oc
its just tragic she left...i think that if she would have held on a little longer that they would still be on the air
oh well..still have the soap channel and dvds

I LOVE THE OC. but now that Marissa has been cut off?.. its true.. she was "THE OC" .. i think they should have kept her.. whatever their reason was to cut her off.. it was stupid and wrong. Look what happened to OC.? It was the best show ever. i wish i could see mischa barton in other tv series.. she doesn't deserved being cut off. stupid director w/e that fired her.

It was very stupid to kill her. She was the life of the show, i mean, come on! But I like Willa Holland too. She's such a mini Julie it cracks me up.

I think that even if she hadn't cut Mischa, the show was doomed anyways. It started off so fantastic (seasons 1&2) and then began to run out of ideas...it just became boring. People began to lose interest. I think they needed to make some major changes in the plot line if they had wanted it to last...it was getting way too repetitive.

i believe that mischa is right and killing of marrisa was completely the wrong way to end that series. the whole marrisa ryan love saga was at the centre of the show and now i do believe that it has been ruined

I think the show did suffer alot because they took Marissa off, the show was not based on her however, It was based of the four of them Seth Summer Marissa and Ryan and you can't spend all three season calling them the fantastic four and the kill one off, then have the nerve to replace her with some one you spent the whole third season making us hate!!!! It makes no sense and it cost them the show.

Misha was the best she is my idol ..... and no they had to ruin the oc yea it was ok after but the saddest thing was when they ended and know i have nothing to watch i am obnsessed eith the oc i mnean i am moving to california when i am 18 to become an actore i love you misha you are my idol u were the star

Being older, I do not think that Marissa was the person holding the show together. Ryan and his history were the main interest, and seeing how he grew was more interesting to me. Marissa reminded me of the typical spoiled little rich girl who cared about noone but herself. She quickly went from one boy to the other, then girl, and not really being straightforward. I think she was in love with "love", and never serious with anyone. I love Ryan, and felt so bad for him when people did not take him seriously, and couldn't see his good qualities. I also miss Tate Donovan- great actor! The most amusing and believable character is Seth. What a good portrayal! He gets an A+ in my book. Rachel is also very good, and I think a better actress than Mischa.

ok, so i just got done watching the 4th and final season of the oc. i actually dont think i watched any of the 3rd season, but from what i saw in the 1st and 2nd seasons i just dont get how this could happen. So anyways, had the show continued to go on what could have been done with the show when they are all in college? What else was possible from this show? This show certainly wasnt a comedy although it did have some moments with seth, but how does a show like this continue on with mischa barton still being on it? How much more creative could the writers possibly get? They did a terrific job and if you ask me there just wasnt anything at all to work with and yes that could be their fault, and its very sad to see the show end because we do feel like we are a part of going on since so many of us can relate to this material in our own lives but what more is possible!? Great show, it all happened so fast, and it probably should have ended the way it did. With or without marissa, and btw Taylor (Autumn Reeser) did a terrific job if you ask me. Taylor was a hugeeeee hit in the 4th season. Check out the season 5 trailers made by fans on youtube they are really great and just make you wonder...

ok, the writers are idiots! i mean seriously, who would kill of the most loved and favorite character in the series? she was the first love we saw on the show. she drew our hearts in. she made us all fall in love. when she died, the OC died. thats it. i almost didn't watch season four at all because of her death, and i LOVE this show. i watched season one through four in only 6 days. no sleep, and lots of tears. i know crazy huh. but i wanted to KILL the writers when they killed off marissa!! that was the dumbest thing you could have possibly done. it really would have been like killing off Rachel in Friends (no wonder friends lasted 10 seasons, they kept the "main love story" going on their show)... Mischa Barton was RIGHT ON. SHE was the reason the show ended. oh, and also because the writers turned it into a full on SOAP OPERA. i mean come on, were not 40 year old women, we are teens, we dont want a soap, we want a drama.
