Declawed: Nicole Scherzinger, Head of the Pussycat Dolls, Speaks Out

The Pussycat Dolls often garner attention for guest stars that appear on stage alongside this monumentally talented singing group.

Vanessa Minnillo, for example, is the latest pseudo celebrity to take a foray into this feline festival.

However, as lead singer of the Grammy-nominated pop band, Nicole Scherzinger is opening up to Complex magazine about her background and how her real-life persona differs from the slithering sex bomb seen on TV.

For starters, she's no Lindsay Lohan tramp. In fact, she never really dated.

"I grew up in a conservative Catholic family, so being in the Pussycat Dolls was a big stretch for me," Scherzinger said.

When Nicole joined the group, she had only one request: "I won't be a Pussycat Doll unless you give me a solo deal."

And let's just say that Snoop Dogg was only too happy to close said deal - if you know what we mean!

Anyway, Scherzinger is now working on her solo debut and has a career plan all mapped out: "I want to do movies, another Pussycat Dolls album, and another solo album after that. I want to write my own Broadway musical, too."
