  1. hey :) Says:

I agree with the person above 'Riley'. I agree with Riley as well though, but since the person above had taken an extensive amount of time to write that essay, I will comment on it.

First of all, I am a sociologist and I can't presume that others possess an adequate understanding of the term 'culture.' Most should read Wikipedia, as 'culture' can be interpreted as any shared pattern of human activity distinct from that of which is already developed.

It doesn't refer specifically to locations, such as 'African culture' or 'Japanese culture' although that is merely what it USUALLY refers to. I give you credit for attempting to break the boundaries of what is commonly thought by addressing Goth as a culture.

Most sociologists don't entirely agree on the definition of culture, but, if people are going to adhere to your form of Goth then it IS a culture, rather than a subculture.

  2. Marley Says:

I agree with "Goth should be considered a legitimate culture". My brother is a Goth and thinks it should become important too. Why shouldn't it? My brother is 38, not an adolescent, and is ridiculed constantly when he goes out of town. This inspires me. Thank you for posting.

  9. WHo CAREs ABOUt HILLARy DUFf? Says:

Goth is a religion. It is NOT a subculture for certain individuals, and crying about those religious Goths being erroneous will not suppress them. They will maintain the belief system if they are genuine. Goth is not a fad. The vacuous "mainstream" incorporates fads into daily living, and Goth is not one of these fads. Goth is sacred to many. Goth requires considerable dedication. Stop referring to celebrities as Goth. Celebrities are NOT Goth, and merely reflect society in its own vacuity, as it is society that produces and pays heed to them. Grow up and please at least attempt to increase your IQ...

  10. pretty Says:

i think they made her dye her hair for lizzie mcguire. and the auburn hair is her natruka colour. i think it looks nice tho

  11. KLM Says:

since we does dying ones hair a dark shade make one goth?

  12. malossi Says:

    does anybody has a msn

  13. Hair colour? Seriously!? Says:

    Do...

...Do any of you know what a Goth is?

It takes more than a freaking hair colour to be goth.
