Justin Timberlake Lays into Taylor Hicks, American Idol
Say this about Justin Timberlake: he isn’t afraid to share his opinion. First, Cameron Diaz’s other half talked about ex-girlfriend, Britney Spears.
Now? The former boy band member has a few choice words for American Idol and its latest victor, Taylor Hicks.
“I have a strange relationship with [American Idol],” Timberlake says. “I despise it, and yet I’m completely fascinated. The guy who won-people think he looks so normal, and he’s so sweet, and he’s so earnest, but he can’t carry a tune in a bucket.
Do you realize how much pressure it is to put on somebody all of a sudden? If he has any skeletons whatsoever; if, God forbid, he’s gay, and all these people in Mississippi who voted for him are like ‘Oh, my God, I voted for a queer!’ It’s just too much pressure. But that’s what we do in America. The American dream is still to be young, rich, and famous.”
Ummm … what?!? Isn’t this the same guy who supposedly offered support to Lance Bass and his homosexuality? Some P.R. dude sure isn’t watching JT’s sexy back.

Why does this “musician” feel the need to slam another musician? He obviously knows nothing about Mr. Hicks & his history. There are so many struggling musicians who never get the chance like Justin. Why does he feel the IMMATURE need to slam this guy we so desperately needed on the visible music scene? Looking for more exposure for your new music Justin?? AND why dont we have you start some further criticisms with other established artists too? Why dont you start with ones you’ve done collaborations with?

Justin Timberlake is the one who can’t carry a tune in a bucket. Can he even sing or is his music all computer produced? His voice doesn’t even sound real. And what kind of song is “sexyback”. Sounds like Justin Timberlake is in the category of Trying to Hard.

Justin Timberlake should be ashamed of himself. For someone who has made it so big, he is soooooooooo low class to try to steal the glory of Taylor Hicks’ moment in the sun. Timberlake would never the guts to lash out at some bigtime talent in the industry. Pride comes before a fall. He needs to be thankful for where he is and shut up.

Justin appeared on Star Search which was a similiar show to American Idol back in the day (which i must add he didnt win), then he went on to appear on the Mickey Mouse Club (thats some credibility for ya) and was then put into a manufactured boyband (what a shame Lance Bass didnt come out then) and went on to achieve success making a cd exploiting his break up with Britney Spears. Taylor Hicks is definately a true talent and deserves his success that he EARNED! I guess Justin forgot where he came from. I know his new single sounds so synthesized it sucks.
I find it extremely ironic that a prefabricated little boy singer has the balls to criticize ANYONE. His celebritiy is based on who he is dating and definitely not his music. Look at his fan base…little girls. At least Taylor has fans from 2 to 92. I agree with Keely..Taylor has earned his success. Justin’s is all plastic. The kid hasn’t done ANYTHING to pay his dues. 10 years from now people will be saying WHATEVER HAPPENED TO JUSTIN WHATSHISNAME.

THIS is Taylor Hicks. He wrote and recorded this song about 10 years ago. He was just a kid. Read the lyrics as he sings them. I find them hauntingly beautiful and sad. Very soulful. American Idol is keeping him from performing his own works at events that they sponsor. Their huge loss.
Taylor financed this recording himself, so the budget wasn’t big. Therefore, the sound suffers in places. But the raw talent is obvious. Give this man a chance. He’s all about the music…..and the music is awesome.

um, taylor hicks is an amazing artist. i’ve seen him twice in concert and he was fabulous. the fact that little pretty boy (except he’s not attractive) justin timberlake has to insult taylor for no reason, and to the extent that he did, acting as if he personally knows him, makes me sick bc timberlake can’t sing a note. it’s all of that irritating screeching garbage. maybe hes jealous that taylor can sing so beautifully, and that he can’t. timberlake’s a waste of life and makes me sick to my stomache. taylor hicks is true talent.
In Taylor’s book he said that JT never said those things about him and that it was just made up because people would like to imagine a feud between them. But I do agree that TH is way better that JT and deserves more fame than what he is getting.
