You all are so ignorant. Ive seen maybe 5 decent comments. I think every race has some thing about them that is beautiful. Why criticize and down some one to make your self feel superior. I do agree with whom eva said that White people dont directly say anything racist but every day we deal with it just by turning on the tv, going to the store to buy a barbie/babydoll, looking at children books and such. On tv all you see is white/asian/hispanic glorfiyen the top 100 as most beautiful women.
White women have beautiful color eyes, hispanics have beautiful curly hair with shape to die for, blacks women have beautiful almond shape eyes with shape to die for and hair that is very beautiful and versitile, asians have undeniably different and beautiful shape eyes, Indians have gorgeous hair, a beautiful complexion, and a powerful look .. and so on and so on..
and yes we all have our own pref. but for me race is just a word.

There are pretty people of every ethnicity, and if you find a hot caucasian girl, you can find a hotter ebony girl, which can be topped by a hotter asian, which can be topped by a hotter hispanic.

I just had to respond to the person who said that if anyone had a choice, 99.9% of people would choose to be white. I just wanted to go on record as saying that I must be in the .1% of people who wouldn't. I can only say that because I've actually given it some thought, as I'm sure many non-white people have when coming to terms with the way the world tends to view black people, and how some of us view ourselves.
I may not like what's become of mainstream black culture, but strictly speaking of what are the obvious range of physical characteristics amongst black people, and the more ephemeral qualities that can't be proven (NO, I'm not talking about sexuality or rhythm or any of those stereotypes), I consider it a blessing beyond measure to be in this body. I would never, ever, ever wish to be anything other than black. The things I consider beautiful about myself, I consider beautiful because they are black characteristics, not in spite of it.

I do think that women like Serena and venus willams should be recognized as well as their type of beauty.

in a way this song is good and bad. i believe that black women need to be honored more and african women because we are the original women of rythm, bodies, and not to mention the oldest human fossil found was in africa (it was a woman too/ so does tha mean we're tha first race?). but i dnt agree bashing white women because all women diserve respect no matter what race. and if a man goes with a woman of his race or different race and shud be because she likes her.

Racism is racism is racism, regardless of who says it and who they direct it towards. Bookman's song was full of racism--not only against whites, but mixed people as well. So it surprises me that there are blacks out there that don't understand why this song upsets people. Blacks, of ALL people, should understand why racism isn't well tolerated... Only about half an hour ago, I, a WHITE female, signed a petition for the Jena 6 (a group of black students discrimated against in Louisiana)... This is just ridiculous. Blacks and other minorities are always upset, and rightfully so, about being discrimated against... but when a minority makes a racist comment about the majority, we are expected to hold our tongues? Get real, people. Blacks should be proud of their ethnicity--they have a rich culture and they should never be ashamed of it. But the same goes for whites and all other races as well. Hey Fez, there are racists in every racial group, don't make it sound like all racists are white. I'm white and I'm a realist not a racist. There are plenty of 'sleep around' people in 'black' society too, check out hip hop culture, and girls like 'Superhead' Steffans who brag about their sexual exploits and sell their stories. Black people have been known to do porn too lol. Also, just check out the numbers, there are a lot more white people than black in the US and the UK for example, so you're gonna hear a lot more about them, whatever they do. Do you think it's somehow ok for black people to make racist and sweeping remarks about white people but not the other way round? Before I begin. I am not black nor white. How many black women do you hear in the news who are sleeping around with so many men and going in and out of rehab? how many sex videos of paris hilton britney spears pamela anderson etc are there? I dont see many black celebrity sex videos? If white women are going to behave like slags, then what do they expect? If white people are so proud to be white then why are there so many tanning salons and fake tanning products? why do they go abroad to become darker? why do they listen to black music and try to copy the way black people dress and talk? If it isnt because they like them then why do they do it? what I cannot understand is why are there so many racist white people if so many of them want to be darker.

There is no more justification for a black person to be spouting hatred just because he or she belongs to a so-called 'minority' which feels aggrieved not to be part of the majority. Thank you Liz for speaking the truth. I too am Puerto Rican and I ran across this page and was shocked by all of foolishness that young lady had written. Her ignorance is a product of her family not teaching her the history of our people or they are teaching her a version that is very incorrect.

Do you know who you are as a Puerto Rican? If not let me help you. I am Puerto Rican as well. Puerto Ricans are HARDLY white. We are Indian(to a lesser degree), African and Spanish....not white. We are mixed race people. You need to understand that there were 20 times more slaves dropped off in the Carribbean and Central and South American than in the United States during the long period of slavery. Most of our culture is tied to Africa from the food to the music, art to even the way we speak Spanish with some of our words interwined with African words. Some of us Puerto Ricans do come light or somewhat white looking but that is no different than the African Americans that have huge color variations within their families. At the end, we both still have African ancestry and because of that tie that binds us along with 60% of Cuba and countless Colombians, Dominicians, Venezualans, Brazilians ...we should NEVER be disrespectful to each other. Ever.
