American Idols to Meet American President

Hasn't President Bush been humilated enough these past few days years?

Evidently not. How else to explain the president's choice to host someone who actually received more votes than he did? Yes, Bush will entertain Taylor Hicks and other American Idols when they stop by Washington, D.C. on tour net week.

Along with hanging out with the president in Oval Office, the singers may have a chance to meet Tony Blair, as well. The British Prime Minister will be around for meeting about the war in the Middle East. But that all pales in comparison to the real question: Will Katharine McPhee show up?

It's unknown if this year's runner-up, who's been sidelined with bronchitis and laryngitis, will be able to make the trip. She cancelled a guest-hosting gig on "The View" last week, and has already missed two weeks' worth of concerts on the American Idol tour.

You might say she's had a McPheever - but that would just be lame.
