I love them both. The dixie chicks were just using their freedom of speech which in my opinion should be used more often in this country. Reba did have a right to stand up for herself and her music when they mentioned her in the magazine. I almost think the whole thing between them is kinda funny. They are both country people and they both love country music, they are really fighting about nothing.

Country music always hates the singer or group who are not pure corn bread and butter goodness with sugar BS added on top. Johnny Cash, Buddy Holly, hell they even stole an award from Leigh Ann Rhimes and gave it to that Tricia Yearwood girl who cant sing half as good just because they felt she was too young.. or just didn't like her because she sang too well.. to hell with the CMT Nashville BS scene.. for gods sake these people think Billy Ray Cirus and Toby Keith are good singer/songwriters.

Reba is a symbol of a racist pigs. Her words speak for them self. But then she can say what she wants to, as longs as it what she wants to hear. This is why so many people shy away from country music; it connection to some of the most hateful action in America. Great job Reba! Keep up the hate, for those who dare to argue against the cruelty and injustice in this world.

Both Reba and the Dixie Chicks are very talented. This is America and we all have the freedom to express our opinion. The use of profanity in expressing our point of view is not necessary. If Reba and the Dixie Chicks have a difference of opinion, or have hurt each other's feelings, let them work it out. I don't agree with the Dixie Chicks, but I would defend their right to speak their minds. In fact, do they even mean everything they say? Or, are they using this bad girl image as a publicity tool? All I really know is our troops are in Iraq and as long as they are, they have my support.

I never liked Country.... mostly just made fun of it.. and the rednecks that listen to it.
Saw the Dixie Chick Documentary 'Shut up and Sing" a few nites back...
I think they are great.... nothing to do with who said this or that.. Just like the music I heard.

OK...Just so everybody knows...Reba is a great singer and so are the chicks...Its all about PR...Frankly Reba is taking advantage of the PR from the right wing and the chicks are taking advantage of the moderate crowd...Its important to look at the big picture they are artists with dreams and ideals...The real problem here is the current president of the United States...He's made the country a gong show, tanked the economy, and failed the nation...It's gonna be easy for the next person to come in...anyone is more competant than Bush..Try universal health care...it would be a good start to show how you value all people and not just the elite rich who support the drug company...Wake up my American friends...;)

Reba McEntire rules and her music will always be timeless. The Dixie Chicks will always be remembered as crabby babies who wrecked their careers with their mouths. They just get meaner and crabbier as time goes on, too. They consider flinging insults left and right "growing" and they want their fans to "grow with them". LOL No thanks. I am an EX Dixie Chick fan because I do not need to grow that way.

Alright, everyone is entitled to his or her own opinion. But believe it or not some opinions are better left kept to yourself. When the Dixie Chicks made their comments about the president, I did not approve, but I did not imeadiately hate them. Then I heard about their comments of Reba. The first thing that came to mind was respect your elders. Reba came through and paved the way for all them women in country music that have come behind her. So I think the Dixie Chicks should respect her for that even if they are not fans of her, they should respect her. I think the fans of both parties have made this worse. The DC fans will say something about Reba, which lights a fire under the butt's of Reba fans. That in turn makes the DC fans retaliate, and the cycle goes on and on! In this situation, I tend to look at the facts. Reba has been in the industry over 30 years and is still putting out singles. The Dixie Chicks have been in the industry for a while, I am not sure exactly how lond but I know it is less than 30, and haven't had a single out since Not Ready To Make Nice. Now I understand that Mrs. McEntire had a long period of time when she did not put out new music, but during that time she was a little busy starring on Broadway and in a hit television series. Next fact, Is the title of the Dixie Chicks "Queen of Country Music", no I am afraid that title belongs to Reba. So as a proud Reba fan I leave you with this, while Reba will be remembered for being a great person with an iconic voice and timeless music the Dixie Chicks will be remember for making slams against the President.

Also in response to Lydia's comment, I must say when I first read it, I couldnt help but laugh! It is clear that you are basing your comments onlitle knowlegde Reba. Okay, first she has dine many things that would not be considered safe, but since she is a great, classy person, people accepted it! Like I said earlier, you clearly don't know much about Reba since you made that living legend comment, umm lets see, way bigger legend than the Dixie Chicks.Are the Dixie Chicks the ones who have had over 30 years of sucess in the country music business, hit sitcom, and Broadway star, oh sorry that was Reba. In response to whom are grandchildren will be listning to, with the way the Dixie Chicks are going with putting out new music, it wont be them!

I have always loved Reba! The first CD I ever owned was by Reba. I used to like the Dixie Chicks too but since their true personalities have come out, I can't stand to listen to a single one of their songs. I deleted every one from my computer and mp3 player, and thank goodness the radio stations here don't play them anymore! They know better.
Reba is classy and her music is timeless. The Dixie Chicks can't even draw a crowd to a concert anymore. They're probably broke and surely can't afford to feed Natalie. haha

Dixie Chicks clearly do not like country music or they would have not mouthed country's bigest star.
The Dixie Chicks are young and foolish,clearly not thinking before they speak.I am a HUGE Reba Mcentire fan, and I will jump on someone in a skinny minute that say something bad about her. Mrs. Mcentire had every God given right to snap like she did,she was standing up for her job,country,and her music family.
I forgive the Dixie Chicks,and I belive Mrs. Mcentire has also. It's a hard thing to do this forgive and forget,but it is what God has done with all of us.
Anyway,in a few years no one will know who the Dixie Chicks are, but the name ''Reba'' will still be shouted all over the world and shall never fade.

i read through a lot of comments. those of you saying that if it weren't for reba, the dixie chicks and other artists wouldn't be around today...LOL. reba hasn't had that big of an affect. dixie chicks are incredible. to say they shouldn't have said anything about bush, well, its basically saying that all the thousands of men and women that have died in war over freedom basically died for no reason whatsoever. i truely disagree with that. what's more 'unpatriotic', critisizing americans for using free speech that thousands of troops have died for, or using your freedom to it's fullest like it says you can in the BILL OF RIGHTS...it doesn't matter if you say it outside the country, you are an american no matter where you go. don't tell an american to shut up, because that's like telling a canadian to stop breathing, or a dog to quit eating. if you are going to give an american thier rights, then by god, we will use them! it doesn't matter where you are or who you are...

where is reba's name? just because she has been around longer, doesn't make her better. it's all an opinion. in her ENTIRE career, she has sold 55 million albums, dixie chicks have only 4 albums out and they are already at over 30 million. yes, reba is very talented and a huge legend, but the dixie chicks are too. but im not being too fair here, reba has accomplished a lot in country, she is second place for selling most albums out of all femaile country singers. but thats in 30 years. dixie chicks have only been around 10 years. in 20-30 years regardless to what they said about bush, they will be up there with the great elvis pressley, johnny cash, eagles, beatles ect.
