Whtevr happen to "If you cant say anything nice. dont say nothing at all" ? I'm not going to say anything bad about the Dixie Chicks. but Reba IS NOT racious, apparently u dont know anything, bcuzz of her videos "what if" & her doing habitat for humanity. yall dont know jack squat. Yes i am a reba fan, but listen to my FACT! the script she read for hosting the awards show is something she HAD to read to host the show. i like the Dixie chicks bluegrass (alt-country) sound over the mainstream country music of Reba. However, thats a personal taste, the issue here is free speech. That is by definition what music is for, any restriction of this basic human freedom; then one must ask themselves whats the point. A democracy can't work when a minority must hold their tongue because they may offend the majority. I would probably sample more country music if it's collective world-view wasn't so narrow and its politics wasn't more often than not center-right. Ask yourself this, would you dare ostracize Wille Nelson, or Johnny Cash, both in their time for criticizing a war?

I for one love Reba McEntire. She is definetly my idol, and when the Dixie Chicks went after Reba, that was war. It's one thing to diss the president but REBA!!! Hell No! I'm all for free speech, but you know, there's a time and a place for it and i don't think the dixie chicks chose the right time or place when they made their comment about President Bush. You know, i'm sick and tired of people saying Bush is so bad, if you think you can do a better job, then by all means run for presient! As far as the Dixie Chicks and Reba are concerned, I side with Reba. Reba is a classy lady and i don't think she would be rude or make snide comments without being provoked. And Reba's sitcom is not lame. It's one of the funniest and most entertaining sitcoms on t.v.

i read through a lot of comments. those of you saying that if it weren't for reba, the dixie chicks and other artists wouldn't be around today...LOL. reba hasn't had that big of an affect. dixie chicks are incredible. to say they shouldn't have said anything about bush, well, its basically saying that all the thousands of men and women that have died in war over freedom basically died for no reason whatsoever. i truely disagree with that. what's more 'unpatriotic', critisizing americans for using free speech that thousands of troops have died for, or using your freedom to it's fullest like it says you can in the BILL OF RIGHTS...it doesn't matter if you say it outside the country, you are an american no matter where you go. don't tell an american to shut up, because that's like telling a canadian to stop breathing, or a dog to quit eating. if you are going to give an american thier rights, then by god, we will use them! it doesn't matter where you are or who you are...

Dixie Chicks clearly do not like country music or they would have not mouthed country's bigest star.
The Dixie Chicks are young and foolish,clearly not thinking before they speak.I am a HUGE Reba Mcentire fan, and I will jump on someone in a skinny minute that say something bad about her. Mrs. Mcentire had every God given right to snap like she did,she was standing up for her job,country,and her music family.
I forgive the Dixie Chicks,and I belive Mrs. Mcentire has also. It's a hard thing to do this forgive and forget,but it is what God has done with all of us.
Anyway,in a few years no one will know who the Dixie Chicks are, but the name ''Reba'' will still be shouted all over the world and shall never fade.

I have always loved Reba! The first CD I ever owned was by Reba. I used to like the Dixie Chicks too but since their true personalities have come out, I can't stand to listen to a single one of their songs. I deleted every one from my computer and mp3 player, and thank goodness the radio stations here don't play them anymore! They know better.
Reba is classy and her music is timeless. The Dixie Chicks can't even draw a crowd to a concert anymore. They're probably broke and surely can't afford to feed Natalie. haha

Alright, everyone is entitled to his or her own opinion. But believe it or not some opinions are better left kept to yourself. When the Dixie Chicks made their comments about the president, I did not approve, but I did not imeadiately hate them. Then I heard about their comments of Reba. The first thing that came to mind was respect your elders. Reba came through and paved the way for all them women in country music that have come behind her. So I think the Dixie Chicks should respect her for that even if they are not fans of her, they should respect her. I think the fans of both parties have made this worse. The DC fans will say something about Reba, which lights a fire under the butt's of Reba fans. That in turn makes the DC fans retaliate, and the cycle goes on and on! In this situation, I tend to look at the facts. Reba has been in the industry over 30 years and is still putting out singles. In response to whom are grandchildren will be listning to, with the way the Dixie Chicks are going with putting out new music, it wont be them!

Alright, everyone is entitled to his or her own opinion. But believe it or not some opinions are better left kept to yourself. When the Dixie Chicks made their comments about the president, I did not approve, but I did not imeadiately hate them. Then I heard about their comments of Reba. The first thing that came to mind was respect your elders. Reba came through and paved the way for all them women in country music that have come behind her. So I think the Dixie Chicks should respect her for that even if they are not fans of her, they should respect her. I think the fans of both parties have made this worse. The DC fans will say something about Reba, which lights a fire under the butt's of Reba fans. That in turn makes the DC fans retaliate, and the cycle goes on and on! In this situation, I tend to look at the facts. Reba has been in the industry over 30 years and is still putting out singles. The Dixie Chicks have been in the industry for a while, I am not sure exactly how lond but

Hey I didn't know who the dixie chicks were and i don't want to know now... Either way they should respect someone who did so much in the industry of country so that it would be easier for their generation and others to make it big so easily...
